PARALLAX

Well, we've said it before and we'll say it once more; 2012 was a monster year for our team at G-ram Films. No joking, no puns, simply no other way of putting it, this year was our largest ever. At our greatest point, we had over 25 people from over 5 states working on the 2 largest projects that our team has ever attempted to tackle. At our weakest point, we were hunched over in an alley in West Chester attempting to vomit out a size 10 Converse.

2012 was overwhelming, rigorous, empowering, and most importantly fun all at the same time. Our projects got larger, budgets got bigger, talent got greater, and headaches got stronger. The year started off with Graham in his basement slaving away at developing a script for "Parallax" while across the country TButz from the "Thick-Headed Tour" sat dazed in front of his computer editing that project. For the first time in our young company's history, we had two large projects being undertaken at the same time.

As the year progressed, we moved forward into pre-production for "Parallax." We met hundreds of actors, crew members, lawyers, realtors, insurance agents, newspaper writers, and business owners in our pursuit of producing our first narrative feature length film. We interviewed and auditioned dozens of people to create our "Parallax" team. We scouted and managed to talk over twenty different business owners into letting us film our movie inside of their place of business.

Let's take a step back and remind you all that yes, you read correctly before; we did eat a shoe. We launched our company's first crowdfunding campaign to raise money for our film. With the promise of eating a shoe to support our endeavor, we buckled up and ate the shoe at a street festival in West Chester to help promote our film and raise some additional finance to support our team.

As principal photography for "Parallax" neared, we continued to build our team, raise finance, develop the story, secure our equipment (side note: shot on the RED ...booya!), lock down our locations, publicize our project, and dozens of other things that I honestly can't even gather at the moment. And then like that, the shoot began. August 7th was the official start to our production (although at this point we had been filming smaller scenes since mid-July). But August was the real deal. We had people sleeping in our homes, moms serving as craft services, constant flights in and out of Philadelphia International, and enough mayhem to limit our sleep to roughly 4 hours a night. But we did it. After 19 days of shooting, we had finished our film and were off to post-production.

In the months that followed the shoot, we've applied for grants, continued to amass publicity for the project, and are constantly moving forward with our post-production process. We rang in the new year with a complete second edit of "Parallax" completed and have been moving forward towards a final completion in August of this year. In March we will hear back from the Tribeca Film Institute regarding the grant we applied for (fingers crossed) but in the meantime we are continuing forward with our work.

2013 looks to be an exciting year for our team. With "Parallax" seeing completion in August and the "Thick-Headed Tour" (www.thick-headedtour.com) seeing completion hopefully in December, this will be a year to keep your eyes open. We're not quite sure what 2013 brings for us, but we sure can hope it'll be one crazy journey!
