Well, it's been a while guys. A long while. Approximately 2 months and 10 days a while. Next time things turn that "a while" someone yell our way and we'll make sure it never happens again.
Now back to gramatically correct English. Things are moving along over here and starting to really take shape. From someone not as engulfed in this film as others, I must say it has truly been a great process seeing this story come to life through the various stages of editing. Supreme hats off to Graham and Sara for their amazing work to bring it to where it is today. I don't know how they continue to challenge their mental fortitude the way they do, but I must say it is paying off in the end.
Last Friday, Graham returned from a trip to Arizona where he and Sara worked together to nail down the final editing points for the film. After nearly 9 months of working together on the edit since we wrapped production, it was great for them to finally be in the same room working together to make those last changes to really bring "Parallax" to life. Now that we have picture lock 95% in place, it's time for us to move forward to our next facet of post-production - visual effects.
After reveiwing and interviewing dozens of applicants for the position, we are happy to announce our newest members of the Parallax team, Visual Kraft. Visual Kraft is a Los Angeles-based visual effects company led by artist Vineeth Lekkala. Vineeth and his team will now take over the reigns on this project as they begin a six week journey into conquering our visual effects needs. Needless to say, we are very excited to begin working with this team!
During this time, Casey will also be doing the final color correction for the film to really bring out the 1980's feel we are hoping to achieve. As a whole, we are extremely excited to see the color correction output and believe it will add greatly to the film!
Following both of these tasks, the film is scheduled to head to our post-production sound team at Ground Control Studio. These guys are simply great at what they do. With a resume of dozens of films that have played at Sundance, Slamdance, Toronto, and a slew of other notable film festivals, we strongly believe that their sound work will add great depth to the film.
Parallax is anticipated to be finished by the middle of August this year, just in time to begin the submission process for film festivals starting in January 2014. Following the film's completion and prior to it's initial exhibition in January 2014, we plan to launch a 3 month marketing campaign to create buzz for the project. With a full Indiegogo campaign planned during this time, our goal is to raise both awareness as well as the remaining funds needed to effectively market this film and bring it to a nationally and internationally known level. Our sights are high, but our passion for this film is higher. We look forward to bringing more updates your way as we progress through the entire process!
- Until next time friends
