PARALLAX

In our last blog entry, we touched on the age old superstition of playoff beards amongst pro athletes. A symbol of close proximity to an ultimate goal, but also of the challenges that surely await in pursuit of that goal. We here at "Parallax" found this to be extremely relevant to our situation as we were heading into our final months of work with some of our largest challenges yet to be touched.

Since our last post, many of these challenges have been taken on head on by our team of talented artists. From Los Angeles to Arizona to Pennsylvania to New York and everywhere in between, it's safe to say that the sun rarely sets on the "Parallax" empire (ok so that line may be stolen and we aren't quite an empire, but you get my point) nowadays.

In Los Angeles, our team at Visual Kraft has continued to work through all of our visual effects needs. With their final days approaching, it is fairly remarkable to look back and see how much work has truly been accomplished over the past few months. A big hats off to them as they head into the home stretch in the upcoming days.

Meanwhile, in New York our post-production sound team at Ground Control Studio has taken our film to a truly new level with the work they've put in for all of the dialog editing, sound designing, foley work, and everything in between. It's remarkable to see what a difference sound makes to a film and with these guys on board, we know we're doing it right. A true hats off to them for all of the work they've put in so far and the remainder of work that we have to accomplish ahead.

Just up the street from Ground Control, we've hired a new title design artist for the film, Ira Eduardovna from Invisible Pictures. Ira has been working as a graphic artist and animator for a while now and has already begun creating some great work for us to use for the opening title sequence as well as the title cards throughout the film. Show her your support as she aims to complete the work over the next few weeks!

Once all of these components are completed and placed back into the film, we will have a product that is ready to submit to film festivals. The first deadlines for festivals for the 2014 season are coming up in the end of August and beginning of September with both Sundance and Slamdance in the mix. It has been a goal of ours since the inception of this project to premiere our film at a January festival so we are working extremely hard to get the film to a point where it is ready for submission.

Once the film is submitted, there is still additional work to do with coloring the film, additional visual effects to be added, and naturally beginning the promotion and marketing campaigns for the film. With January on our minds, the goal is set and it's up to us to reach it.

Oh yea, one last thing. We began principal photography on "Parallax" one year ago today. Congratulations team, let's bring it to life!

Until next time-
